About Me

My name is Amber.  I am a 30-something mother of 2 boys.  I have been married to my high school sweetheart since January 15, 2000.  Yeah, we got married YOUNG.  We've done a lot of growing up together, and somehow have managed to beat the odds and stick with each other.  I love Jesus, and my relationship with God is far more than just religion.  All in all, I am blessed beyond measure.

That does not mean that my life is without struggle.  Struggle, after all, is the side effect we all experience in life.  My husband is in the USCG, so we are a military family.  Our older son is on the Autism Spectrum.  Our younger son is a sassy ball of energy (which depending on the day, can be both a blessing and a curse.  LOL!).  I have fibromyalgia and a myriad of other health conditions related to it: chronic fatigue, pain, migraine headaches, kidney stones, digestive issues, random numbness and tingling, joints that don't want to work sometimes - you name it, I've got it.

My WW journey began a few years ago, when I lived in AL.  I kept a blog then, which you can read at Double Chin to Healthy Again.  I stopped writing over there in 2009, when I really fell off the wagon.  I started this blog up with my friend, Nicole, and she now writes on her own over at Cupcakes to Cardio.  So here I am, traveling my journey.

Why Weight is a journey.  It is more than a habit, a fad, or a journal.  It is me.  It is my health, my weight loss, my relationships, my spiritual and mental well being.  It is a documentation of the honest ups and downs.  It is my log of exasperation, excitement, exhaustion, and exhilaration.

Thank you for reading and for your support.  Please leave a comment on a blog entry if it makes you smile, nod, or laugh.  Knowing other people benefit from my lessons learned is what keeps me going!
