Where am I starting?

My current weight, as of Jan 1 is 202.  One-derland once again eludes me.  Not gonna lie - I haven't been even TRYING to count points, cook healthy food, or make sure I'm eating veggies.  If I had to put a goal weight out there, I'd say 170 would probably be my ideal goal.  When I was in high school, I weighed 165 and wore a size 8.  I'd be much healthier at that weight, even if it is still considered overweight for me.  A 10% weight loss would be fantastic, and I think would be much better on my heart and joints, so 180 is an excellent short-term goal.

I did a 30-day bible reading challenge at church recently, then completed an advent Christmas devotional.  At church yesterday, Pastor Ben challenged us to read the bible this year, a little at a time.  So far, so good. I'm also reading "The Resolution for Women," which was a Christmas gift from my husband.  It is incredible and I'm really going to take my time to read and absorb it.

Comments from the people who see you regularly are always good.  Recently at work, our 70-something handyman asked me if I was losing weight.  That made my day!  I was wearing my size 10 skinny jeans from AL, albeit with more of a muffin top than I would have liked...  He said, "my wife is about your size.  She's wanting to go from 160 to 140."  Now, you'd have to know this man to know that he says what is on his mind, and if he thought it would hurt my feelings he'd never say it.  He's fantastic.  What he said didn't hurt my feelings at all.  It made me laugh inside.  I wanted to say, "Yeah, R...go ahead and add 40 lbs!"

My goals are:

Read the entire Bible in 2012.
Continue writing in my prayer journal.
Follow the Weight Watchers Points Plus program.
Incorporate 30 minutes of cardio 3x/week.

For now, that's where I'm going to start.  I might add goals as we go, but this is a fantastic start!
